Final Fantasy XII: Completed.

December 19, 2007

I will probably post a review of this game up in a week or so since I’ve actually finished it now (by finished I mean I couldn’t be arsed going after Yiazmat)

Okay, so where to start if I were to sum up my thoughts of the game? Battle system was awesome, the visuals were mighty impressive (make FF-X look like a very ugly game), story was okay (it had a steady build, but I hated how it amounted to nothing at the end. And no, I don’t care if they left it open for Revenant WIngs… that’s just plain stupid.)

I can say with confidence this game IS better than Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Its longer, more entertaining and isn’t a new sort of Final Fantasy… even if it is one of the biggest rip offs of Lord of the Rings/Star Wars I’ve ever seen in my life.

I’d give it 9/10. Review soon probably.

Wanted: Competence, common sense and decent release schedules. Call: Nintendo.

December 7, 2007

So following the bombshell of the retards over at Nintendo informing us there are no current plans to release Brawl BEFORE June next year. All of us PAL gamers are left to ponder… why do we continue to support this company seemingly run by 5 year olds? It certainly isn’t because we like Nintendo anymore… it must be because we like their franchises.

I have decided I am one of these people. I no longer like Nintendo, they are finished as far as I’m concerned. And as soon as Mario loses his charm, Zelda stops and Metroid and Smash finish I’m gone. Those four games are the only real reason I’m with Nintendo. I could handle to miss those exclusives if they weren’t there and would happily invest in the superior 360 or PS3 consoles.

This is not just a aimless hate on Nintendo either. They ACTUALLY gave us hope with Super Mario Galaxy, we got it in PAL only two weeks after America. And now we learn we’ll be waiting 4+ months for Brawl? I’m sorry Nintendo but that can only be described in one way: bullshit. You can’t honestly tell us you couldn’t have Brawl prepped for release in PAL less than two weeks after America. Or is your team too busy tossing themselves off to the joy of Reggie to DO their job. Whatever your reason, you’ve lost me. I’m either installing my modchip, or just buying an NTSC Wii. I think I’ll do modchip because its cheaper.

But either way, Nintendo… you’re done.

EDIT: The reason this is so painful is because its only a few days after Nintendo of Australia said that “global releases are important to them”

Yeah-fuckin-right. I’ll believe that when I see it.

I saw the light. Or did I?

December 1, 2007

I caved. I rented the apparent greatest game “Mario Galaxy” and after putting it a good 12 hours and nearly finishing the story I came out entertained and impressed. It definitely makes up for the abomination that is Mario Sunshine and Mario has restored his name.

I will try and post up a full review next weekend as I am sure I can get those last 10 Stars pretty easily. Unless it goes from being easy to uber difficult. But I very much doubt it… its not Nintendo’s style.

Anyway, as it stands I’d give Mario Galaxy a 9/10. Its a very good game, its only let downs are its basic difficulty and its sometimes somewhat annoying camera (I know its good, but sometimes I found it to be shocking)

For the record: Peach > Rosalina.

I returned it a few hours ago and sat down and started a new Metal Gear Solid 2 game. I haven’t played this installment in the MGS series yet and I must say… Raiden is annoying and Pliskin isn’t very well disguised if you have ever played a MGS game before in your life. Lame heroes aside, the villains are very cool. Fortune and Vamp are the two I’ve seen the most of, and Fatman is my least favourite… because he is just a mad man. I’m just hanging out for Ocelot to appear.

See you next mission.
