TGS Comes And Goes Again… Surprise?

September 26, 2007

So, another year and another Tokyo Game Show has gone past with about as much information that we could care about as the Nintendo E3 conference had this year.

In fact, Nintendo fans should probably stop worrying about events at this rate because they are far better at keeping their lips tightly sealed than any of us can imagine. The only mildly interesting thing I found about TGS was the announcement of another bunch of Kingdom Hearts games and one of them is for my beloved handheld, the DS. Now no doubt the PSP KH game will be better and a truer to the Kingdom Heart franchise but its nice to see that we’re probably going to get a Crystal Chronicle/Kingdom Hearts game. It interests me, although the fact that it is being developed by the team responsible for Chocobo Tales doesn’t inspire hope. I suppose we’ll have to wait and see…

Halo 3 has been well received by the gaming community and after all the hype of the “Finish the Fight” tagline the game carries you’d be forgiven for hoping for a more conclusive ending. But sadly we did not get that, I will not spoil it for those who would rather wait but it didn’t impress me in any way what so ever, although I assume Halo fans will disagree. Much like if Metroid Prime 3 had a boring ending most people dislike it except Metroid fans. Its how the world spins.

So where do Nintendo fans cast their RSS feeds to now? Prepare for Entertainment For All of course, its going to be supermassive and I wish I could be there. Sadly I couldn’t afford the $3,000AU it would have cost me to get there and stay comfortably. Ah well, maybe next year?

WiiLoaded Staff Members will be attending EfA so keep your eye on the WiiLoaded News Portal for news as it breaks (hopefully, so long as D4rk isn’t too busy challenging Nomad and LZ to various drinking challenges).

We are entering game season, Mario in November, Smash in December. Its actually going to be a time when I’m glad to own a Wii.

Metroid Prime 3 is still yet to be reviewed by me as I’m still yet to install my Wiikey chip. One guy offered to install it… for $80AU. I definitely did not agree to that, lol.

See you next mission.

WiiKey Remains Uninstalled, But LMX Regains SSBM Skill.

September 17, 2007

Its true, I’ve yet to install my Wiikey chip. Mostly because I’m still nervous about the whole Wii Crashing thing. If I were to brick my Wii, I’d be Wii-less. There is no way I could afford a new Wii til next year. And that’s a risk that REALLY isn’t worth it. But at the same time, I just want to freakin’ play Metroid Prime 3. Oh, what a world. What a world!

Of course, aside from my Wiikey woes after a weekend of SSBM related fun I’m proud to state that I’ve regained my second position in my local crew.

I was once bested by two comrades, the second of which always resulted in very close matches with very little actually in them. However over the weekend I toweled him into the ground, mostly because my diverse selection of characters has simply become too much for him to combat with just his Link (He is stubborn and refuses to use other characters)

The crew still needs a bit more training before they are ready to stand up to the challenges that await us in the Reloaded Tournament next January but I remain confident I can whip them into shape.

Hopefully soon I’ll gather courage to install my Wiikey… so that way when Joker asks me next “Have you installed it yet?” I will actually be able to reply with a yes.

I’m buying a Wii Points Card tomorrow to buy Metroid 1 for the NES on the VC. Not for any real reason besides the fact that its the game that spawned my favourite franchise.

See you next mission.

Three Days Late… Better Than Three Months Late.

September 13, 2007

I finally have my Wiikey Chip and copy of Metroid Prime 3 Corruption.

It may have been 3 days later than originally thought, but I don’t mind considering it certainly beats waiting until November.

I am getting it installed tomorrow so expect my first impressions up by the end of the weekend.

See you next mission.

Metroid Prime 3: Imported

September 3, 2007

So I got sick of waiting. A nice offer came up to help me get a Wiikey and I’ve snapped it up. It is due sometime this week or at latest maybe early next week.

Either way works because its coming with a copy of Metroid Prime 3 (as well as Super Paper Mario and Mario Strikers Charged) so all is good in the hood.

I am now at that stage of pure hype. I know roughly how far off the game is from being in my hands and I’m practically tingling with excitement. z6joker9 (owner of WiiLoaded) has been updating a thread with the various unlockables you can get with the token system Retro have included in this game.

So I’ve been sufficiently teased.

This also means my Metroid Prime 3 review should be expected late next week hopefully.

See you next mission.
